A successful treatment of orthopaedic-traumatological conditions, and especially following the surgery, requires close cooperation between the orthopaedic-traumatologist and other specialists, working in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation, sports medicine and kinesiotherapy.

Frequently asked questions

You should see an orthopaedic-traumatologist if:

  • You have sustained a leg, foot, arm or hand injury and the affected area is swollen and sore;
  • Your fingers or toes are deformed, e.g., bunion;
  • You feel tingling or numbness in the fingers, experience reduced finger dexterity;
  • You feel pain in the joints of your limbs, muscular pain, your mobility is restricted.

Treatment that starts in good time is shorter and easier.

At the beginning the doctor will listen to your complaints and examine the problematic area, assess the severity of the condition, the cause of the trauma or disease and possible alternatives. He or she will refer you for tests and will later assess the results. Finally, the doctor will discuss possible treatment options, medicines, procedures or surgery and, if required, will speak to you about medical equipment, e.g., orthopaedic boots etc.
